Fuego GTX vs Audi 90

I once had a great 100 km in tandem with an Audi 90 stuck behind me, he tried to overtake but didn't have the power to match my Fuego. He had a Germany registration, so I assume he was a tourist trying to teach a Finn how wise it it is to buy a German car instead of a French piece of *, how wrong he was. Everytime we had to slow down because of traffic or crossroads I'd blow all out on the Fuego again - he appeared in the mirror after a while, but that just wasn't enough.

BTW, they claimed the Audi's top speed to be 200 kph against the Fuego's 192 kph - I wonder where these numbers came from? I did 201 on a radar, the speedometer was showing 210, but it definitely wasn't 192 kph. And it took up the speed very quickly, at 150 kph you'd throw the fifth gear in and rest comfortably. I wish they had done a 2-litre turbo version of the Fuego, I might still own one. Anyone have experience of the 2.2 litre version? There aren't any here in Finland.

Welcome to the forum- and you obviously enjoy your Fuego.
Only Turbos in Australia appear to be private imports.
Hope to see some photos soon.

Fuego Turbo

Hi Rekku9,

The 2.2 litre GTX versions is only sold in... Germany.
This is a version with katalysator. Due to that the BHP is reduced from 110 to 102.

The strongest European version is the Turbo with 132 BHP and a maximum speed of 200 km/h.
Beneath you see mine.

Greetings

Enrico
