Fuego Turbo

Well defined site for Fuego resaurationsEveryone needs it from time to time when your Fuego stops doing what you want her to do.
In France there is a guy who published a lot of restauration and repair topics about the Renault Fuego.
See http://pagesperso-orange.fr/frederic.terras/collect/indefueg.htm
Its in french but every repair/topic is guided by a lot of detailed pictures.
I have used this site already several times with succes.

Thanks for that-looks a great site- it usually fairly easy to understand auto information regardless of language as long as it is European based.

My younger daughter's Fuego - not a restoration at all, but a repaint and go over brakes, glue some trim back together, make some electrical things come back to life, etc.
The usual stuff
Here are some pics of the painting and my girls helping with painting the external trims etc black. These are all the bits you take off the car for a repaint like all the wipers, mirrors, arial, gutter trims, and those fantasic fluted trims that make the car outstanding
Later we masked off the red and painted the behind trim bits black again, as well as the front and rear bumper covers, window frames, and the lower parts of the body (sills etc) that need to be black.

Thanks Tom - I see you've got a R 15 and a Turbo mate....
The R15/17 really is the ancestor of the Fuego in many ways. You're fortunate to have lovely examples of both.
Our red car has progressed a little since the last pics. My wife helped me replace a window motor last weekend. I've done that before by myself but it was so much less swearing with help
I've now got to sort out the relays as the passenger's window motor works really well with full amps applied but......nothing via car switches.
I've just made another mechanical link from the wiper motor to crosshead for this car. I'd already made one last year for the turbo.
You know...its the short link with a nylon socket on each end which connects the motor bellcrank to the first motion crank for the wipers????
I'll try to remember to post a pic and some details. Its very simple and I made the first one after about 4 calls from my daughter saying the wipers had failed every time it rained (infrequently here admittedly).
The red car needs a replacement because its link was probably one I tried to remove to replace on the turbo, and the end broke off as I attempted removal

The Fuego manuals are fairly descriptive- do you have one for your car.
Sometimes I use http://www.babelfish.com to translate articles- it is reasonable for online and most car parts and descriptions are very similar in many languages especially European.
If you don't have manual I can scan sections you may need.

We really love that yellow one you've posted pics of.
Some years ago we had a Fuego which we'd fitted a PRV V6 engine to and painted 'Renault Corporate Yellow'.
Should have kept it
